Gerwyn Price defeated World Cup teammate Jonny Clayton 5-1 in an all-Welsh affair that headlined the MDA and MODUS exhibition event in Oldham on Friday night. The two Premier League rivals, who will join forces for Wales at the World Cup of Darts next month, faced off in the showpiece match that closed out the evening.
Fallon Sherrock was also a leading name on the night, but she suffered two defeats. She lost 3-1 to Clayton in the opening match, then later fell 5-1 to Robert Thornton. Thornton himself had earlier lost 3-1 to Price, but bounced back to beat Sherrock in one of the showpiece games.
All four players are set to be in action again on Saturday as the exhibition tour moves to Birkenhead. Price and Clayton are among several players who have opted out of the ProTour on Monday and Tuesday, and will also skip next weekend's European Tour in Graz, as they manage their schedules while still competing in the Premier League.
