Kim Huybrechts produced the highest average of the day at Players Championship 16 in Leicester, combining a nine-darter with a superb 108.81 average during his second round win over Tavis Dudeney. The Belgian was the standout name on the PC16 averages list, not only topping the leaderboard but also appearing again in third place after averaging 106.09 in his opening round whitewash victory over Jimmy van Schie.
Huybrechts' perfect leg came during that 6-1 win over Dudeney, making it one of the defining moments of the day. His run was eventually ended in the last 32 by Kevin Doets, who also produced one of the best statistical performances of the tournament. Doets recorded the second-highest average of the day with 106.97 in his win over Huybrechts, before later losing to Niko Springer in the last 16.
Rob Cross was fourth on the leaderboard with a 105.97 average, despite his day ending in a deciding-leg defeat to Justin Hood in the last 32. Dirk van Duijvenbode followed just behind on 105.21, which came during his 6-2 second round victory over Tyler Thorpe. Jonny Clayton, who went on to reach the final, also featured among the day's strongest performers. The Welshman averaged 104.78 in his 6-4 win over Derek Coulson in the last 32, while Coulson himself was seventh on the list after posting 104.67.
Joe Hunt's impressive run included a 104.23 average, while eventual champion Andrew Gilding appears in ninth place with 103.82 from his quarter-final victory over Hunt. Wessel Nijman completed the top 10 with a 103.76 average during his opening round win over Lukas Wenig, although his latest title bid ended later in the day against Darius Labanauskas. Justin Hood also appeared twice on the list, with averages of 103.71 and 103.63 during another eye-catching ProTour run. Cameron Menzies posted 103.69, Stephen Bunting registered 103.39, and Lukas Wenig rounded out the list with 102.91 despite losing to Nijman.
Gilding ultimately took the title, beating Clayton 8-3 in the final to claim the first Players Championship crown of his career, but Huybrechts' nine-dart display and table-topping average ensured he also left Leicester with one of the day's headline performances.
