Alain Abiabi has done it again. The Filipino darter won the Asian Tour 14 title in Mongolia without hitting a single 180, repeating a feat he first achieved in 2025 when he won Asian Tour 16 without any maximums. According to the PDC, Abiabi is the only player to have won an Asian Tour event with zero 180s.
Abiabi averaged in the low-mid 80s throughout the day in Mongolia. He reached the quarter-finals, where he thrashed Altantülkhüür Myagmarsüren 4-0. In the semi-finals, he defeated Lok Yin Lee 5-3, setting up an all-Filipino final against Paolo Nebrida. Despite his scoring not being at his absolute best, Abiabi cruised to a comprehensive 5-1 victory to lift the crown.
The next day, in Asian Tour 15 and 16, Abiabi reached a brace of quarter-finals but was unable to add another title. The rare feat of winning with minimal 180s has only been matched in part by Ganzorig Lkhagvasüren, who became the first Mongolian to win on the Asian Tour in the eighth event of 2026 while hitting just a single 180. Man Lok Leung, a two-time PDC World Darts Championship participant, won Asian Tour 20 in 2023 with only two maximums.
While 180s are often seen as crucial for reducing scores quickly, Abiabi's success proves that finishing and consistency can outweigh raw power. His title run in Mongolia deserves recognition for demonstrating that darts can be won without the flashiest scoring.
