The International Darts Open 2026, held from 22-24 May in Riesa, Germany, offered a total prize fund of £230,000, with £35,000 awarded to the winner. Ross Smith claimed his first European Tour title by defeating Ryan Searle in the final, earning the top prize. The event was the seventh of fifteen PDC European Tour events this season and featured 48 players.
Prize money distribution saw the runner-up receive £15,000, semi-finalists £10,000, quarter-finalists £8,000, third-round losers £5,000, second-round losers £3,500, and first-round losers £2,000. However, an important caveat applies to seeded players: the top 16 seeds who lose their opening match do not have that prize money added to their rankings. For qualifiers who become seeded due to withdrawals, their prize money does count toward rankings.
Stephen Bunting was the defending champion, having defeated Nathan Aspinall 8-5 in the 2025 final. Aspinall did not play in this year's event and has mainly been playing exhibitions recently. Luke Littler continues to skip European Tour events, but Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price returned for the first time in a while. Other notable entrants included Gian van Veen, Michael van Gerwen, James Wade, Josh Rock, and home hero Martin Schindler, who was in the top sixteen.
The prize money from the International Darts Open counts toward the PDC Order of Merit, the Pro Tour Order of Merit, and especially the European Tour Order of Merit, which determines qualification and seeding for the European Championship later in the season in Dortmund.
