PDC WOMEN'S SERIES RETURNS IN WIGAN WITH GREAVES AIMING TO RESUME DOMINANCE

The PDC Women's Series returns today at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan, with the top names in the women's game competing for the £2,500 top prize. Events 13 and 14 take place on Saturday, followed by Events 15 and 16 on Sunday, with action starting at 10am BST each day.

Beau Greaves still dominates the circuit but was stunned multiple times during the last double header, including when Vicky Pruim picked up a maiden title. Greaves also lost to Rhian O'Sullivan prior to that in Event 11. However, she has since reached another ProTour semi-final and is now seeded. Greaves could soon face the issue of being banned from playing the Women's Series if she reaches the top 64 due to PDC rules, which might bring relief to other players.

The usual faces include Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton, among others. Noa-Lynn van Leuven is not allowed to play due to a recent IOC ban on transgender players, which has been adopted by the PDC, meaning she can no longer compete in these events.

The prizes on offer include spots at the Women's World Matchplay, which will be held in Blackpool on July 26. The top eight players on the rolling 12-month Women's Series following Sunday's action will seal their places. Additionally, spots are available for the PDC World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts. Unlike the Challenge Tour or Development Tour, there are no Tour Cards for the champion. All action is on PDCTV or DartConnect.
