The Flanders Darts Trophy is next on the calendar, taking place between Friday September 11 and Sunday September 13 in Antwerp as the European Tour comes back for the 13th time. It continues the sojourn to countries that aren't Germany, with Basel and Maastricht in Switzerland and the Netherlands to follow.
The matches can also be followed live on PDC TV. As usual at European Tour events, the tournament is spread over three days, with an afternoon and evening session each day. The afternoon sessions start daily at 12:00 PM BST, while in the evening the first darts are thrown at 6:00 PM BST. On Finals Day, Sunday September 13, the third round runs from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM (afternoon session), with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final taking place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (evening session).
Currently, as of time of writing, Luke Littler is set to play, albeit the line-up doesn't tend to be fully confirmed until the draw, when late withdrawals are set. Given he has now qualified for the European Championship, it is semi unlikely he will play this next weekend. Luke Humphries would be top seed, but given shoulder issues during his final run he might also be one who takes a weekend off. Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen are others involved who would take de facto top spot when it comes to the billing if the two Lukes decide not to play. Luke Littler is defending champion...but unlikely to play.
Beau Greaves made history last time out, becoming the first female to win on the European Tour, and she returns again. After not being able to qualify for European Tour events most of the season, she has managed to qualify for the last three and so will be involved. As will Raymond van Barneveld, Martin Schindler, Rob Cross, Joe Cullen and Cameron Menzies, among others who mostly qualify through the ProTour and some the Tour Card Holder Qualifier.
The big names come into the tournament on Saturday and will face a ProTour player or Qualifier who will face off on the Friday. So in theory the first time to catch most of the big names is Saturday night due to how it is scheduled. From the latter stages, this goes into bracket order, so the winner of each game faces the next in the Quarter-Finals for instance. This makes it even easier to follow and creates further narrative.
