Phil 'The Power' Taylor is coming out of retirement to reunite with former England teammate Adrian Lewis in the MODUS Super Series International Pairs Tournament. The 16-time World Champion will return to competitive action alongside long-time friend Lewis at the MODUS Super Series studio in Portsmouth from November 23-28, 2026.
Taylor, widely regarded as one of the most successful players in darts history, had previously resisted calls to return to the competitive stage after stepping away from the sport, but the opportunity to play alongside Lewis once again proved too tempting to turn down. The pair formed one of the most successful partnerships in international darts, representing England together at five major tournaments and winning four titles. That included four World Cup of Darts crowns, with the pair sharing some of the most memorable moments of their careers on the international stage. Now, more than a decade after their last major success together, the legendary partnership will be reunited for a unique pairs tournament in Portsmouth.
“I’ve been asked plenty of times about coming back, but it would have to be for the right reason,” said Taylor. “Adrian is one of the very few people I’d come out of retirement to play alongside, and the MODUS Super Series is the place I wanted to do it. We’ve got a lot of history together, we know each other’s games inside out and I’m looking forward to getting back up there with him.” Lewis was equally excited at the prospect of sharing the oche with his former England teammate once again. “Phil and I have shared some brilliant moments playing together over the years, so to get the chance to do it again is really special,” said Lewis. “We know what it takes to win as a pair and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do together.”
The reunion brings two of the biggest names of the modern era back together, although fans will have to wait to discover who Taylor and Lewis will face. The full International Pairs Tournament line-up will be revealed live on the MODUS Super Series channel on October 10, with a host of international stars set to compete in the unique pairs format. Chris Murphy, CEO and Executive Producer of MODUS Super Series, said Taylor’s return represented a major moment for the sport. “Phil Taylor coming out of retirement is a huge moment for darts, and we’re incredibly proud that he has chosen the MODUS Super Series to make his return. To have him back alongside Adrian Lewis, another phenomenal player, makes it even more special. Their history together speaks for itself, and seeing them reunited on the MODUS stage is going to be an incredible moment for darts fans.”
The International Pairs Tournament will take place from November 23-28 at the MODUS Super Series studio in Portsmouth, with the action streamed live and free on Pluto TV. The MODUS Super Series is available exclusively and completely free on Pluto TV, providing live darts throughout the year. Across the MODUS Super Series and ADC events broadcast on the channel, players compete for more than £1 million in prize money annually. So never miss any of the action every week.
