The World Grand Prix continues on Wednesday evening at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, with Gerwyn Price taking on Ross Smith in a second-round clash scheduled for 22:15. The match is part of a packed evening session that also features Danny Noppert versus Ryan Joyce at 20:15, Jonny Clayton against Wessel Nijman at 21:15, and Luke Woodhouse facing Nathan Aspinall at 23:15.
The tournament, which runs from Monday 28 September to Sunday 4 October, features 32 players: the top 16 in the PDC Order of Merit and the top 16 from the one-year PDC ProTour rankings who had not yet qualified. Luke Littler leads the field and is defending champion, having seen off Luke Humphries 6-1 in the 2025 final. However, Littler lost last year’s final 11-7 to Michael van Gerwen. The top 16 also includes Gian van Veen, Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen, James Wade and Gary Anderson. The ProTour stars are led by Luke Woodhouse and Kevin Doets, with Cameron Menzies, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Dave Chisnall, Joe Cullen and Rob Cross among the 16.
The World Grand Prix uses the Double In, Double Out format, meaning players must start and end on a double. Formerly held at the Citywest in Dublin, it moved to Leicester when the Citywest was out of action during the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained there ever since.
The first round took place on 28 and 29 September with two sessions both starting at 6pm. The second round is on Wednesday 30 September and Thursday 1 October, with two sessions starting at 7pm. The quarter-finals are on Friday 2 October from 7pm, while the final two sessions on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October are from 8pm.
