Luke Humphries has admitted he "hates" that Luke Littler is out of the World Grand Prix, because it "puts all the pressure on me" as he is now favourite to win the title. Littler suffered an early exit at the hands of Luke Woodhouse, and Humphries discussed the added pressure following his own first-round win over Dave Chisnall – a match he labelled "one of the worst performances" he has played.
Humphries' comments came after he battled past Chisnall in the first round, but the world number one was far from pleased with his display. "It puts all the pressure on me," Humphries said of Littler's absence. "I hate it."
With Littler out, Humphries is now the favourite to lift the World Grand Prix title, but he knows he will need to improve drastically on his opening performance if he is to live up to that billing.
