SWISS DARTS TROPHY 2026: HUMPHRIES SEEDED NO.1 AS 48-PLAYER FIELD AND £230,000 PRIZE FUND CONFIRMED FOR BASEL

The Swiss Darts Trophy is due to take place between 9-11 October 2026 at St Jakobshalle in Basel, serving as the penultimate tournament of the European Tour season before the Dutch Darts Championship. The event will feature a field of 48 players and £230,000 in prize money.

Luke Humphries is pencilled in to be top seed, with Gian van Veen, Jonny Clayton, James Wade, Michael van Gerwen and Josh Rock also leading the way. The seeded players are: 1 Luke Humphries (England), 2 Gian van Veen (Netherlands), 3 Jonny Clayton (Wales), 4 James Wade (England), 5 Michael van Gerwen (Netherlands), 6 Josh Rock (Northern Ireland), 7 Gerwyn Price (Wales), 8 Stephen Bunting (England), 9 Danny Noppert (Netherlands), 10 Ryan Searle (England), 11 Gary Anderson (Scotland), 12 Chris Dobey (England), 13 Wessel Nijman (Netherlands), 14 Nathan Aspinall (England), 15 Ross Smith (England), 16 Jermaine Wattimena (Netherlands).

The PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit Qualifiers are Luke Woodhouse (England), Kevin Doets (Netherlands), Krzysztof Ratajski (Poland), Andrew Gilding (England), Rob Cross (England), William O'Connor (Ireland), Niko Springer (Germany), Niels Zonneveld (Netherlands), Ryan Joyce (England), Dirk van Duijvenbode (Netherlands), Joe Cullen (England), Cameron Menzies (Scotland), Damon Heta (Australia), Martin Schindler (Germany), Sebastian Białecki (Poland) and Dave Chisnall (England). The Tour Card Qualifiers are Bradley Brooks (England), Mensur Suljović (Austria), Tom Bissell (England), Jeffrey de Graaf (Sweden), Michael Smith (England), Mario Vandenbogaerde (Belgium), Raymond van Barneveld (Netherlands), Sietse Lap (Netherlands), Maik Kuivenhoven (Netherlands) and Cristo Reyes (Spain). The Host Nation Qualifier is TBC (Switzerland), the Nordic & Baltic Qualifier is Jani Haavisto (Finland), and the East European Qualifier is György Jehirszki (Hungary).

Luke Littler will not bother for the rest of the European Tour season and won't play in Basel and Maastricht. The draw will be confirmed on Thursday at midday before the tournament starts on the Friday. The schedule will be confirmed shortly after the draw with the top 16 coming into proceedings on the Saturday. The top 16 ProTour stars will face the qualifiers, with the big names paired with one of the winners.

The format sees the First Round, Second Round, Third Round and Quarter-Finals all played as best of 11 legs, with the first to 6 legs winning. The Semi-Finals are best of 13 legs, first to 7, and the Final is best of 15 legs, first to 8. In the history of the Swiss Darts Trophy, Stephen Bunting won in 2025 with an 8-3 victory over Luke Woodhouse, while Dave Chisnall triumphed in 2024, defeating Ricardo Pietreczko 8-6.
