Damon Heta produced a stunning performance to thrash defending champion Jonny Clayton and storm into the last 16 of the 2026 Dutch Darts Championship in Maastricht on Saturday evening, averaging over 103 in a ruthless display.

The second round continues at the Dutch Darts Championship, with eight matches scheduled on Saturday evening as the remaining places in Sunday's last 16 are decided. Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting and a host of other big names are entering the action, with Van Gerwen taking on William O'Connor, Price facing Scott Williams and Nathan Aspinall meeting Michael Smith among the standout ties. The evening session got underway from 17:00 GMT.

Heta's victory over Clayton was the headline result of the session, as the Australian ended the defending champion's hopes with a clinical display. Earlier in the day, the Saturday afternoon round-up saw Smith and Nijman advance, while Searle stayed strong against a hostile crowd and Schindler confirmed his participation in Dortmund.

The tournament has already seen its share of withdrawals, with Rob Cross pulling out after completing a late U-turn due to 'personal reasons' and Luke Humphries also withdrawing as Joe Cullen sacrificed European Championship involvement. The action continues in Maastricht as the remaining last-16 spots are decided.
