Luke Woodhouse produced perfection to begin the 2026 European Championship in Dortmund on Thursday night, landing a nine-dart finish in the third leg of his opening tie against Dirk van Duijvenbode. The perfect leg came in the very first match of the night in Germany as Woodhouse faced off against 'The Titan'.
Woodhouse hit 180, 180, 141 using the common route on double 12 to seal the nine-darter. At the time of the perfect leg, he was 4-2 up in the short format, and he will hope the nine-dart finish is not a bad omen for the rest of the game.
The nine-darter continues a remarkable run for Woodhouse, who made a splash last time out by dumping Luke Littler out of the World Grand Prix. He has now done the same this time, albeit through a perfect leg. The PDC marked the moment on social media, posting: "WOODHOUSE NINE-DARTER! Luke Woodhouse pins the perfect leg against Dirk van Duijvenbode in Dortmund in the FIRST game of the European Championship."
What a way to start the weekend in Dortmund off.
