Gerwyn Price has made the sudden decision to withdraw from all non-PDC appearances for a year, pulling out of every exhibition commitment for the remainder of 2026 and throughout 2027. The move, announced on Thursday, 29 October 2026, sees the World No. 4 step away from the exhibition circuit due to personal reasons.

In a statement released by MODUS Sports Management, the organisers confirmed the news: “MODUS Sports Management and MDA Events regret to announce that Gerwyn Price will no longer be appearing in scheduled events for the remainder of 2026 and no appearances outside of PDC events in 2027 due to personal reasons. While this is devastating news for his fans, and we understand existing ticket holders' frustrations, we respect Gerwyn’s decision and wish him well for the future. Replacement players have been arranged and communicated with current ticket holders.”

Price himself issued a heartfelt apology to his supporters, saying: “I apologise for these last-minute withdrawals and hope my fans will understand. I need to take a break from non-PDC work for the foreseeable future. MODUS and MDA are fully supportive of my decision, and I thank them for their understanding, and I hope in the future I can work with them once again.”

The 38-year-old has been in superb form of late, moving back up to World No. 4, though he has not won a major title and his drought has been extended. Price will continue to play in major PDC tournaments, and the decision may allow him to prioritise ranking darts; he has often said this year that he has taken his eye off the ball when it comes to playing Pro Tours and European Tours. Off the oche, Price has other business interests including his chippy, houses and a farm, and he is also due to become a grandad in the new year.

Price will next play on the big stage at the Grand Slam of Darts, which begins in just over a week's time.
