Danny Noppert has returned to the world's top ten, a position that confirms his consistent level but leaves him hungry for more. Speaking during the Belgian Darts Open two weeks ago, the Frisian darter expressed his ambition to climb higher, stating, "Yeah, of course I want to be back in the top eight again, but top 10 is, of course, a good result." He emphasized his satisfaction with his performance, typifying his down-to-earth approach: satisfied without complacency, with steady performances and a solid ranking, yet aiming to mix with the elite once more.
Noppert views the busy darts schedule differently than many players who complain about it. He puts it into perspective, explaining, "I think if I play Premier League then I can say it's a busy schedule. So for me it's okay now. Last week we played a tournament, this weekend we played a tournament, so I have a lot of time at home." This balance keeps him fresh mentally and physically, and he adds, "It's not that busy, but I enjoy everything, every moment, so that's most important. If you enjoy every moment in darts, then yeah." The joy in the game underpins his performances, leading to a steady curve rather than forced peaks.
The life of a professional darter has become second nature to Noppert, who describes it as "my lifestyle." He notes that even going on holiday to Gran Canaria and missing tournaments later in the year will feel strange. Key to his success is the support from his family, especially his partner. He says, "The most important thing is that my family is behind me. They support me really well. If I ask my girlfriend if there is a tournament or an exhibition to play, she says do everything. She's really behind me." With two young children at home, this trust is essential, giving him the confidence he needs, showing that success often begins away from the spotlight in the stability of home.
Despite an impressive résumé, Noppert still has one specific prize on his bucket list: a title on the European Tour. He states, "Of course I won Pro Tours before and I won a major. The European Tour — once, maybe more — but it's on my bucket list." The recent breakthrough of Wessel Nijman at that level serves as extra motivation, and Noppert adds, "Hopefully I will do it and if I play like this, what I did today, then everything is possible. It's on my list." He is back in action this weekend at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich, continuing his pursuit of these goals.
