GERWYN PRICE CREDITS FARM PURCHASE FOR PREMIER LEAGUE SURGE AFTER NIGHT NINE TRIUMPH

Gerwyn Price has attributed his strong Premier League Darts form to a major off-the-board development, revealing that the recent purchase of a farm has provided a crucial mental boost. The Welshman, known as "The Iceman," was the standout performer on Night Nine of the Premier League in Manchester, where he posted averages of 103.54, 112.91, and 105.84 to defeat Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting, and Gian van Veen in succession, claiming his second nightly title of the campaign. This run has helped him climb to third place in the standings.

Price offered insight into the backdrop of his performances, explaining that just hours before taking the stage in Manchester, he completed the purchase of a plot of land measuring around 200 hectares. Speaking on the Double Tops Podcast, he said: "I wanted to finalise this for a few months and I probably drove the lawyers completely crazy. I just wanted to finish it, so I could put it behind me and concentrate fully on my darts." The sense of relief had an immediate impact, with Price noting: "It was finished around five o'clock this afternoon and then I thought: great! I'm going to play well today. And I did." He also laughed about the scale of his new asset, adding: "I've always wanted a small piece of land, but I don't know if 200 hectares is actually a small piece of land. I pulled out all the stops."

The Welshman further revealed that his living situation has been a distraction lately, as he lives next to his own fish and chip shop, which sometimes leads to unusual moments. He recalled with a laugh how a customer even took photos of his car: "Yeah, with a flat tire as well. It's my old motor, which had been sitting on the drive for months." Despite his surge, Price remains vigilant with the play-offs approaching, stating: "It's not certain yet that I'll make the play-offs, so I have to keep playing well week after week." His approach is clear: "If I can pick up two points every week, which is my goal, then I'll win a bonus."
