HUYBRECHTS POSTS TOURNAMENT-LEADING 111.33 AVERAGE AS DOBEY CLAIMS PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP 9 TITLE

Chris Dobey secured his second ranking title of the 2026 season with victory at Players Championship 9 in Wigan, but it was Kim Huybrechts who set the scoring benchmark for the event. Dobey claimed the title with an 8-4 win over Justin Hood in the final, backing up his earlier success at Players Championship 3.

The standout average of the tournament came from Kim Huybrechts, who produced a 111.33 in a 6-0 first-round victory against Jimmy van Schie. That remained the highest average recorded across the entire event. Huybrechts went on to reach the third round, where he was beaten 6-1 by Tom Bissell. Josh Rock followed with a 110.80 average in his opening round win over Filip Bereza, before his run ended in the next round with a 6-3 defeat to Mensur Suljovic.

Dobey also featured prominently among the leading averages, posting a best of 109.74 in his second round win over Rhys Griffin. He added several further 100-plus averages across the day as he progressed through the field. Elsewhere, James Hurrell recorded 108.65, while Niels Zonneveld was the highest-ranked Dutch player in the list with a 104.93 average, despite a 6-4 defeat to Joe Hunt.

Runner-up Justin Hood also appears twice among the leading averages, with 104.86 and 102.91, reflecting his run to the final. Further entries inside the top group include David Sharp (103.68), Wesley Plaisier (103.57), Luke Woodhouse (103.47), Ross Smith (103.06), Tom Sykes (102.73) and Karel Sedlacek (102.44). Across the full list, multiple players produced three-figure averages, underlining the scoring level throughout the event. The ProTour continues in Wigan with Players Championship 10 next on the schedule.
