WESSEL NIJMAN DOMINATES PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP 10 WITH THREE 108+ AVERAGES TO CLAIM THIRD TITLE OF 2026

Wessel Nijman produced a dominant display to win Players Championship 10 in Wigan, defeating Scott Waites 8-2 in the final. The victory marks Nijman's third Players Championship title this year, underlining his formidable form on the ProTour circuit.

Nijman's triumph was built on a series of staggering averages, as he posted the three highest marks of the day. His standout performance came in the last 32, where he averaged 109.98 in a 6-0 whitewash of Adam Gawlas. He also recorded averages of 109.71 and 108.46, showcasing his consistency and power. Kevin Doets also impressed with a 107.36 average in a 6-0 last-16 win over Gabriel Clemens, alongside solid marks of 103.17 and 102.59, though he fell 6-4 to Waites in the quarterfinals.

Other notable performances included James Hurrell's 105.95 average and Chris Dobey's 105.07 and 102.37 averages. Dobey, who won Players Championship 9, reached the quarterfinals here before losing 6-5 to Karel Sedlacek. Kim Huybrechts upheld Belgian pride with averages of 104.43 and 101.71, reaching the last 32 where he lost 6-3 to Brendan Dolan. Danny Noppert and Jermaine Wattimena also featured with averages of 103.25 and 103.22 respectively.

The high-scoring day highlighted the fierce competition on the ProTour, with multiple players averaging over 100. The Players Championship now takes a two-week break before resuming on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Milton Keynes.
