CLAYTON CLAIMS NIGHT 11 TRIUMPH IN ROTTERDAM, DENIES LITTLER AMID HOSTILE CROWD DRAMA

CLAYTON CLAIMS NIGHT 11 TRIUMPH IN ROTTERDAM, DENIES LITTLER AMID HOSTILE CROWD DRAMA

Jonny Clayton secured his fourth nightly win of the 2026 Premier League Darts season with a 6-4 victory over Luke Littler in the Night 11 final at Rotterdam Ahoy. Clayton produced a composed display in the decider, breaking at a key moment before sealing the win on tops. The night, however, was also shaped by Littler's response to a hostile crowd, with heavy jeers following him just a week after his clash with Gian van Veen.

Littler fought his way to the final with a 6-3 quarter-final win over Gerwyn Price, sealing it with a clinical 124 checkout on the bull, and a dramatic 6-5 semi-final victory over Luke Humphries. Humphries forced a deciding leg with a 13-dart break, but Littler held his nerve to clean up 80 on D10. Clayton's path saw him stun the home crowd with a 6-2 quarter-final win over Michael van Gerwen, sealed with a brilliant 170 checkout, followed by a tense 6-5 semi-final win over Josh Rock. Rock forced a decider with a superb 142 finish but missed chances at D12 and D6, allowing Clayton to punish and advance.

The final began with Littler racing into a 2-0 lead, opening with an 11-dart leg and firing three maximums early. Clayton responded by breaking back to level at 2-2, then took control of the middle phase. A crucial break in the seventh leg, aided by a scrappy visit from Littler that failed to produce a dart at double, shifted the balance. Clayton moved within one leg with a clinical 78 finish, and after Littler briefly delayed the outcome, Clayton sealed the 6-4 win by pinning tops after missing it for a 131 finish.

Elsewhere on Night 11, Dutch hopes were ended early as Gian van Veen fell 6-2 to Luke Humphries, and Michael van Gerwen was knocked out 6-2 by Clayton despite opening with a 122 checkout on the bull. Josh Rock continued his strong form with a dominant 6-1 win over Stephen Bunting, while Humphries' semi-final exit offered encouragement as he pushed Littler all the way.
