PRICE JOINS VAN GERWEN IN DOUBLE-DIGIT EUROPEAN TOUR CLUB WITH GRAND PRIX TRIUMPH

Gerwyn Price has become only the second player in history to reach double figures for European Tour titles after clinching victory at the Grand Prix in Germany. The former world champion secured his 10th career European Tour crown by defeating Ross Smith 8-6 in the final at the Glaspalast in Sindelfingen.

Price, 41, joked about his achievement, stating, "I've been in the PDC for 12 years now, so less than one a year on average isn't very good." His path to the final included wins over Dave Chisnall, Chris Dobey, Martin Schindler, and Wessel Nijman, with the championship match sealed by a 14-dart hold.

Reflecting on the tense final, Price said, "I was 3-0 up, then 4-3 down, and Ross started smashing the trebles in for fun. I was hanging on and hoping I got more opportunities, and I did." He added, "I was just struggling to get over the winning line. I lost in the last European Tour final that I played in. Thankfully I won this one, and hopefully it will give me a bit of confidence going forward." The only other player to have won double-digit European Tour trophies is Dutchman Michael van Gerwen.
