BELGIUM'S BAETENS AND RAMAN SHINE AS 'TEAM OF THE DAY' IN MODUS SUPER SERIES INTERNATIONAL PAIRS WEEK

Belgium's Andy Baetens and Brian Raman made a strong statement on the opening day of International Pairs Week at the MODUS Super Series, winning three of their five matches to top the group with six points. The event, running from Tuesday, 21 April 2026, features twelve nations competing in two-player teams: Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Germany, Croatia, Canada, the United States, and Kenya. Baetens and Raman, described as two of the strongest names on the Belgian darts circuit, started hesitantly but grew into the tournament as the session progressed.

Their performance included standout moments such as a 10-darter against Wales and an 11-darter against England, showcasing their scoring power and mental resilience under pressure. This earned them the 'Team of the Day' recognition for their ability to fight back after a difficult start. The MODUS Super Series is a competition for players without a PDC Tour Card, with matches streamed live and prize money on offer, and has previously featured names like Luke Littler before his professional breakthrough.

The tournament format includes a three-day group stage, where the group winner qualifies directly for Saturday's final round. The remaining teams will be redistributed into two new groups, with six additional countries entering, ultimately leading to six teams advancing to the final day where the title will be decided. Belgium's focus is on maintaining top spot, with England, the Netherlands, and Scotland among the traditional darting powerhouses providing fierce competition. If Baetens and Raman can stabilize their level and reproduce their day-one peaks, they could establish themselves as serious outsiders for the title.
