Luke Littler produced a stunning nine-dart finish to defeat Gerwyn Price 7-6 in the headline match of the MODUS and MDA exhibition at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday night. The teenage sensation wowed the crowd with a perfect leg, capping off an evening that also featured Ricky Evans, Karel Sedlacek, John Henderson, and Robert Thornton.
Littler averaged 105.36 in the match, while Price posted an even higher average of 106.92 but still came out on the losing side. Price hit a best checkout of 130 and landed five 180s, but Littler edged him with six maximums. The victory was Littler's second of the night, having earlier beaten Andy Callary 3-1 in the opening match.
Earlier in the evening, John Henderson defeated Craig Devlin 3-1, and Karel Sedlacek produced a remarkable 150 checkout using three bullseyes to beat Ricky Evans 4-3. Sedlacek's show-stopping finish drew huge applause from the Ayr crowd. Robert Thornton also took part, though his result was not reported.
Both Littler and Price will now skip the upcoming ProTour double header in Milton Keynes, joining Nathan Aspinall, Jonny Clayton, and Michael van Gerwen in taking a break. Price moves on to the Dumfries and Galloway Masters on Sunday alongside Evans, Thornton, and Henderson. Littler also played in Glasgow this weekend, but the highlight of his trip was undoubtedly the nine-dart finish in Ayr.
