Darts legend Phil Taylor has issued a stark warning to world No 1 Luke Littler, telling the teenage sensation to "get used to the boos" after he was subjected to booing and whistling at recent tournaments.
Taylor, widely regarded as the greatest darts player of all time, was joined by sports promoter Barry Hearn in offering words of advice to Littler, who has found himself on the receiving end of crowd hostility despite his status as the top-ranked player in the world.
The 18-year-old has been a revelation since bursting onto the professional scene, but his rapid rise has brought with it the kind of attention that can turn sections of a crowd against a player. Taylor's message was clear: hostility from the stands is something Littler will have to learn to live with.
Hearn, the man who helped transform darts into a global phenomenon, also weighed in with guidance for the young star as he navigates the pressures of being the sport's biggest draw.
Fans will be able to see Littler in action when the Grand Slam of Darts takes place in Wolverhampton from November 14-22, live on Sky Sports.
