Luke Humphries dazzled on the doubles to reach the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix, but his victory was overshadowed by a crowd drama as he shushed a fan after the match.

Humphries, the defending champion, produced a stunning display of finishing to see off his opponent and book his place in the last eight. The win was highlighted by a remarkable 10-dart break that left the crowd in awe, with Humphries later describing it as 'Can't get any better!'

However, the match was not without controversy as Humphries was involved in a tense exchange with a spectator. After sealing the win, he raised his finger to his lips in a shushing gesture, silencing the fan. The incident added to the drama of an already electric atmosphere at the World Grand Prix.

Elsewhere, the tournament saw the end of Luke Littler's defence as he exited early, prompting darts legend Phil Taylor to warn the young star to 'get used to the boos'. The unique format of the World Grand Prix also came under fire from James Wade, who described it as 'awful' and 'hellish'.

In other results, Gerwyn Price booked a showdown with Jonny Clayton, while Nathan Aspinall raced through with a 'top-five' performance, declaring 'My scoring was unreal!' Clayton himself put on a ton-plus finishing masterclass, and Gary Anderson endured a 'diabolical' start, missing a double and suffering two bounce-outs.
