Luke Littler's friend and content creator Angry Ginge has strongly defended the young world champion against perceptions of arrogance, insisting he is "the most down-to-earth guy you'll ever meet." Speaking on the Double Top podcast, Angry Ginge described Littler's remarkably calm demeanor, revealing that before the World Championship final against Gian van Veen, Littler's warm-up consisted of "throwing a few darts and having a margherita pizza."
Angry Ginge highlighted a key moment during that final, noting that after van Veen won the first set, Littler walked off stage, looked at his friends, and said "no more." Littler then went on to win the next seven sets to claim the title. "He obviously went on to win the next seven sets, so he basically called what was going to happen," said Angry Ginge, emphasizing this was not arrogance but confidence.
Addressing criticism that Littler can come across as cocky, Angry Ginge completely disagreed, stating: "He's such a genuine guy, and I don't think people realise how down-to-earth he really is. Of course, he's Luke Littler, and he's the best darts player in the world, but I really wish people would just treat him normally because he's just a normal and genuine bloke." He acknowledged that sometimes Littler's words "can come across a little cocky," but stressed "there's absolutely no way that's what he's aiming to do."
Angry Ginge also discussed Littler's handling of fame, noting that he initially "struggled a bit at first with being in the limelight and having to speak on camera" but now shows his personality in interviews. Regarding crowd reactions like boos, Angry Ginge suggested it's "probably down to the fact that people want to see others win" rather than Littler's behavior. He drew a striking parallel about their friendship, saying: "Being mates with him is pretty cool. It's like being friends with Ronaldo!" while noting their bond is based on shared background as Littler is "from only 40 minutes down the road from me."
