Nathan Aspinall claimed the German Darts Grand Prix 2026 title with an 8-5 victory over Danny Noppert in Munich, sealing his fourth European Tour crown with a clinical 128 finish in the final. Aspinall averaged just over 100 in a high-quality decider, pulling clear in the latter stages after a tense and scrappy middle phase to take control against the Dutchman.
Noppert's route to the final was built on control and clinical finishing. He opened the evening with a commanding 6-1 win over Jonny Clayton, punishing missed doubles and steadily taking charge after a scrappy start. In the semi-finals, Noppert delivered one of the performances of the night, averaging just under 97 and finishing at 50 percent on the doubles in a dominant 7-2 victory over Krzysztof Ratajski, with a four-leg burst early on effectively deciding the contest.
Aspinall's path, by contrast, was shaped by scoring bursts and timely finishing. His quarter-final against Andrew Gilding was chaotic early on, with neither player able to hold throw, but Aspinall eventually found the crucial moments, taking out 100 and edging clear late on to seal a 6-4 win. He then produced the standout performance of the semi-finals against Kevin Doets, averaging over 106 and controlling the match from the outset, with a 134 checkout proving a key highlight as he surged into a commanding lead before closing out a 7-2 victory.
In the final, Noppert made the stronger start, holding comfortably in the opening leg, but Aspinall quickly settled, levelling on D16 before breaking throw to move 2-1 ahead. An 11-darter opened up a two-leg cushion, and another break of throw soon followed as he surged into a 4-1 lead. Noppert responded well with a 12-darter and an 85 checkout to reduce the gap, before capitalising on missed chances from Aspinall to level at 4-4. The turning point came when Noppert wired the bull for a potential 170 finish to take the lead, and Aspinall punished immediately with an 84 checkout to edge back in front at 6-5. From there, he did not look back, using a perfectly timed 180 to move to within one of the title before sealing the victory with a stylish 128 finish.
