ALLY PALLY CULT HERO MOTOMU SAKAI SIGNS WITH TARGET JAPAN

Japanese darts star Motomu Sakai, who made his PDC World Darts Championship debut at the end of last year, has officially signed with renowned brand Target Japan. The move rewards Sakai's impressive development on both the national and international stage, as he has rapidly grown into one of Asia's most promising players in recent years.

Sakai began his career as a teenager on the Dartslive Japan circuit, where he stood out with consistent scoring and a mature reading of the game. His international breakthrough came in 2023 when he joined the PDC Asian Tour, reaching the final in only his second tournament. He later impressed at the PDC Asian Championship, defeating seasoned names like Lourence Ilagan and Paul Lim on his way to the semi-finals.

In 2024, Sakai focused on gaining experience and delivering consistent performances on the Asian Tour. His true breakthrough year was 2025, when he captured four PDC Asian Tour titles, including back-to-back victories, and frequently posted averages over 100. These results earned him a spot at the 2026 World Darts Championship, where he reached the second round after a convincing opening win and became a crowd favorite with his energetic stage presence.

With his scoring power, mental calm, and growing big-stage experience, Sakai is now considered one of the most compelling names for the sport's future from Asia. The partnership with Target Japan is intended to support his development further, with the brand guiding him as he grows at the highest level and collaborating on future products that suit his playing style and preferences.
