WESSEL NIJMAN EXTENDS PRO TOUR DOMINANCE AS LITTLER, ANDERSON, VAN GERWEN LAG BEHIND

Wessel Nijman has solidified his position at the summit of the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit, amassing £219,250 in prize money after clinching his fourth ranking title of the season at Players Championship 10 in Wigan. Nijman's latest triumph saw him defeat Martin Lukeman (6-4), Justin Hood (6-2), Adam Gawlas (6-0), Niels Zonneveld (6-3), Beau Greaves (6-2), Luke Woodhouse (7-4), and Scott Waites (8-2). Earlier this year, he also won Players Championship 2 and Players Championship 8, reached the final of Players Championship 4, and secured his first Euro Tour crown at the European Darts Trophy in Göttingen. The Pro Tour ranking, which includes all floor events and Euro Tours over a rolling 365-day period, also counts Nijman's two Players Championship wins from the end of 2025.

Chris Dobey, who won Monday's other Players Championship event, sits second with £162,500, while Nathan Aspinall is third on £149,750. The gaps are tight behind Aspinall, with just £17,250 separating third from ninth. Ross Smith (£146,500) and Gerwyn Price (£143,750) occupy fourth and fifth, followed by Stephen Bunting (£143,500), Jonny Clayton (£136,250), Danny Noppert (£134,500), and Luke Humphries (£132,500). Jermaine Wattimena rounds out the top ten with £122,750.

In contrast, several high-profile names are struggling in the standings. Two-time world champion Luke Littler is only 13th with £110,000, a position attributed to his regular skipping of Pro Tour events. Gary Anderson has slipped to 28th place (£75,750), also due to frequent absences from the floor circuit and Euro Tour. Michael van Gerwen is just inside the top 32 in 31st (£71,000), with this weekend marking 12 months since his last Pro Tour title. Former world champions Raymond van Barneveld (37th, £50,750), Michael Smith (38th, £50,500), Peter Wright (39th, £50,500), and Rob Cross (40th, £50,250) are outside the top 32, risking missing several majors in 2026.
